Neonatal Care
Veterinary Technologists such as myself love to help deliver and provide care to newly born animals (neonates). I enjoy providing nutrition advice for the neonates, as well as the nursing mothers.
Dental Care
I have many years of providing dental care for pets. Just like humans, pets need to have their teeth cleaned and benefit from regular brushing. I perform the general anesthetic necessary to clean the teeth, the cleaning itself, and dental radiographs. Then I assist the doctor with charting the mouth and extractions or other dental surgery needed.
Anesthetic for Surgery
Performing anesthetic is a big job, and one that I love doing. It's my job to keep the pet anesthetized while the doctor performs all kinds of surgeries, from spays and neuters to cruciate repairs and exploratories. Sometimes I also need to scrub in and glove up if he needs an extra pair of sterile hands!
